Beginning on April 30, 2018, the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition’s No Food Left Behind project is conducting a six-week Challenge to Waste Less Food. Confirmed Corvallis-area participants will weigh and record edible or previously-edible food that went to waste in their household each week. To be successful, participants will receive a free digital scale and counter-top compost pail, and a “tool box” full of printed information and Challenge forms (also online).
For the first two weeks, participating households simply monitor the amount of avoidable or preventable food they generate, login below and record that data. Then for the four weeks following, they use any of a number of tips and tools we provide to plan and shop smarter, prep smarter, store smarter, eat smarter and of course, waste less food!
The baseline and subsequent data will be used to help our program determine which methods to waste less food were the most helpful, and to get a sense of how much wasted food Corvallis households can prevent.
